Research Activities of the Department of Law

During the relevant academic years, the School of Law and Justice consistently fostered a strong research and academic environment through the organisation of a wide range of seminars, webinars, workshops, guest lectures, and skill-oriented training programmes. More than 80 academic and research- focussed activities were conducted that reflect the Law School’s sustained commitment to academic excellence, research orientation, and professional development. The programmes covered diverse and evolving themes such as Intellectual Property Law (including IP in the Metaverse), Constitutional and Administrative Law, Indian Federalism, Media Law, Gender Justice, Criminal Law reforms, Cyber Law, Human Rights, Environmental concerns and Professional development for law students. Several sessions specifically focused on practical legal skills, career pathways, and industry exposure, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

Distinguished resource persons including senior advocated, Judges, academic from reputed Universities were invited to share their expertise and knowledge. The institution also emphasized research capacity building and sensitisation, with workshops and lectures addressing critical themes such as gender-based violence, sexual harassment, state responsibility, constitutional morality, and comparative legal developments at national and international levels. Interdisciplinary sessions on financial education and professional ethics further enriched the academic ecosystem.

  2. EDP on Applied Legal Research Workshop, from Theory to Practice – conducted from 3rd July to 4th July 2025 and eminent resource persons were delivered lecture on their expertise area.
  3. Seed Fund Research Project Grant by the R&D Department of Adamas University (IQEER Committee) on 10th November’ 2023 vide Seed Number: AU/SEED/2023- 24/AUG/008 by Notification Reference Number: AU/REG/NOT/2023/11/003 from the office of the Registrar on Violence against Women in Close Relationship pre & post – pandemic.
  4. International Conference on Human–Animal Conflict | 13–14 February 2026
  5. SOLJ received the grant from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies –MAKAIAS (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) to organize a seminar on the Indian Knowledge System.

    At present NLU Tripura is housed in the beautiful campus of Tripura Judicial Academy with state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research. The pristine environment of Agartala affords ideal conditions for the pursuit of knowledge.
  1. MOU between Adamas University and Cyber Guru, Institute for Cyber Legal Education & Consultancy, Kolkata. The Cyber Guru team comprises experts known for their extensive knowledge and practical experience. They provide consultancy services to individuals, businesses, and organizations, helping them safeguard their digital assets and navigate the complex landscape of cyber threats.

This Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the AU, Kolkata, being the First Party herein, and IIJPS, being the Second Party, for Academic Collaboration’ that will encompass collaborations for training, research of students and members of faculty between the two parties as well as other academic activities, publication, offering certificate courses, seminars, workshop, symposia, conferences, etc.
